An Appeal for Ramakrishna Math, Puducherry
Swami Vivekananda, during his wandering days, visited Puducherry and laid the foundation for the Ramakrishna Movement in this region. The spiritual legacy left by Swami Vivekananda, supported by the devotees and followers of Sri Ramakrishna, continued to flourish in Puducherry, leading to the establishment of a Sub-centre of the Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, was established in Puducherry on 18 March 2022.
The new sub-center in Puducherry is currently functioning in a small house. Presently, the center conducts various spiritual and service activities. In 2023, land measuring 18,609 sq. ft. was purchased in Karuvadikuppam for the construction of the new Math buildings. The foundation stone for this was laid by Most Revered Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj on 16 February 2023. The proposed new Math at Puducherry will include a Temple Block, a Service Activities Block, and Monks' Quarters.
The total estimated cost of the entire project is ₹18.73 crores. Construction work commenced on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya, 30th April 2025. We now earnestly appeal to all devotees, well-wishers, and philanthropists to extend their generous support towards the construction of the temple — a sacred space that will radiate spiritual energy and stand as a beacon of Sri Ramakrishna’s universal message of love, harmony, and selfless service. The temple is expected to be completed by December 2025. The detailed temple construction cost break-up is provided below.

Donations of ₹1 lakh and above will be gratefully acknowledged by displaying the donor’s name on a plaque within the temple premises.
